VP – N/A

Secretary: N/A

Treasurer: $45,122.48 cash on hand to spend. Membership invoices were sent out on June 2nd. Rich Marinucci mentioned the possibility of the per capita rate being adjusted to, at least, the 2000, for next year’s dues. Phil asked that any other necessities be brought to his attention prior to the scheduled Budget meeting in August or September, so they may be added to the budget development process. Lastly, Dearborn Heights has exhausted all efforts in trying to collect on Invoice #132, according to their Corporate Counsel. It was unanimously decided that this invoice be voided, as the legal costs would exceed the cost of the invoice.

CWW Report: N/A

Emergency Management: Ed Gillman gave a brief report.
1. The Emergency Response Guidebooks have been distributed to your departments.
2. Short discussion ensued regarding the vehicles and their associated titling issues with the county. Shadd will continue to pursue our best interests and keep us informed as things change.
3. Ed noted that the Fermi Training event went extremely well. Many thanks to our team’s participation.

Training Report:
Rich reminded each department of the Western Wayne $500 Scholarship fund. That can be used for any conference, training class, seminar, etc. Just send an e-mail with your request to Linda. He also mentioned that RAFT is bringing back Dave Dodson and his “Art of Reading Smoke” full day seminar on September 16, 2008. Hazmat Report & USAR Report:
Chief Whitehead discussed several items:
1. The transitioning of new vehicles is going as smoothly as possible. He will keep us up-to-date on any new information as it comes.
2. Shadd discussed the issue of Hazmat Team members and their physicals. These physicals are being handled by an outside company. The departments are no longer responsible for the testing of their member(s) as they were in the past. It is now a much easier system.
3. A question came up regarding uniforms for both teams. Shadd will create a document that will list all the specs for the Tech Rescue Team uniforms. Hopefully, a grant will take care of the costs surrounding this conformity in the future.
4. Shadd gave an update on the progress of the teams. The out-of-state instructors gave nothing but positive feedback.
5. All major disciplines have been completed. The team is fully functional.
6. The teams are also working on documenting SOG’s, checklists, etc., which gives added value back to every organization encouraging continuity among everyone responding to the incident.
7. Corey did ask that if anyone comes to you, the chief, and says they are unable to participate in training – you must send Shadd or himself and e-mail stating that you are aware of and approve his/her absence.

Downriver Report:
Bob Tompos gave a brief report. He discussed the three callouts of the Fire Investigation team that occurred (2 in Taylor, 1 in Lincoln Park). Henry Ford Hospital gave a presentation to their association, stating that they are just as competent as BioCare, and requested their business. Downriver MAA donated $500 towards the Axemen Firefighter Charity. Lastly, the discussion of blood draws for the police dept occurred. An Operations Committee will review and consider the request. Short discussion followed this topic within the Western Wayne group.
